A Jalopy’s Fancy

What if the car detested,
Traveling from one place to another?
It just wants to sit and feel rested
Under the sunset’s cover

It could stay at rest for days
Feeling millions of filtered rays,
Containing golden hues of red and orange
It’d lay down, and its doors unhinge

But no, the car lives a dog’s life
Revving up and up, screaming and roaring
Accelerating under the gear and engine’s strife
Then shifting, after disagreement, its pain lowering –

And while the owner travels in such a rush
The car fantasizes of star-gazing on grass so lush
