The Piano Forte

There’s something to be said, about the way the string resonates
As the piano hammer’s head falls when black key is played;
Sound, the Pianist’s choice it deprecates,
As non-harmonic tone is overlaid –

Piercing through the melody

There’s no place for such a key in a conventional scale
But what if of stories of another mode I were to regale
Incorporating sharps and flats
Such that our key a song does not collapse

Such a thing (before the 17th century) was clearly unheard of

Ah, but a young John Sebastian Bach
The music foundations would rock
When he created Toccata and Fugue in D minor

Thank you, brilliant music structural designer
