Civic

Life is unrelenting abatement
The goal: our youth to curtail
Discernable in our local vagrant,
Crushed, undone; by a government in “greatness” said to be nonpareil

Only the Resilient coincide
By imposed rules and laws that we abide

Said to be in place to protect and serve the peace,
In reality set to retard our forward movement.
Actually imposed by those in power, to set their mind at ease –
Lest the proletariat rise and ready their entombment

Poverty and Affluence can only be so polarized
Before their natural magnetism arise,
And crumble an adage so meticulously crafted
“That’s just how god wanted it”

Instead let it rise from the ashes,
A new axiom be proposed;
“Not all men are created equal”, and in reality this isn’t fascist
If we agree to keep ourselves from being indisposed…

To say, let us make it, so it’s not that way.
