The only certainty a statement has
Is that it is uncertain by nature
And the truth of a joke that has come to pass
Well, it was delivered as a venture
All your knowledge, are speculations of the mind
Theories that have been “proven” through time
Consider this, five hundred years ago
Surely, the world is flat
And math pointed to Geocentrism, ergo
Center of the Universe! Is where we’re at?
The speed of sound would never be reached
It was said in the year of nineteen twenty six
The year was nineteen forty seven
When the sonic boom, sounded like heaven
Ha! And there we go! Another thought of quotidian precedence
Believed blindly by some without any empirical evidence
But then again Gravity was thought to work as Newton said,
At least till Einstein came along…
And his ideas a century led,
Till Verlinde claimed he was wrong.
And my poor reader what to believe?
Don’t lose your cheerful disposition.
And if these thoughts do make you peeve,
Take solace in that it’s just my proposition.
